About

Who are we?

Two trail riding enthusiasts with more than 50 years off road riding experience between us. Dirt bikes are in our blood, we love them, and we believe trail riding is the best way to enjoy them. Come rain or shine, wind or snow, we’ll be bounding with enthusiasm to show you a good time.

Why Normandy?

Obviously it’s just across the Channel, which helps. When France opened up during the railway age, travellers nicknamed the area south of Caen the Suisse Normande, and for good reason – it’s green and hilly. Scenic views abound, and the bocage, as the countryside is known, is connected by hundreds of lanes, the classics being the sunken ones with a canopy of trees. Have a look in the gallery to see some examples. There are some serious hill climbs if that’s your cup of tea, equally these can be avoided. Trail riding and bikes in general are socially acceptable in France (fancy that!), so be prepared to gasp in amazement as you enjoy a friendly exchange with ramblers or horse riders you meet on the trails. Many people are genuinely pleased to see you out enjoying yourself.

Where are we?

The accommodation for your tour is a water mill north of Vire, about 45 minutes drive from the port at Caen. Directions here.Camping also available at a nearby site.

How much?

We charge £130-00 per person per day for the day’s riding, bed, breakfast and evening meal. Please call or email for bookings. Ordinarily the maximum group size is 12.

For your guidance

For a trouble free trip you will need van/car/bike breakdown cover, and appropriate insurance for your vehicles and yourself. Please remember to bring your EHIC health card as you will need this in the event of a trip to hospital.

On the tour you are required by French law to carry ID (passport), driving licence, V5 and insurance certificate.

Your safety is important to us so please be honest when discussing your group’s level of experience and ability. We won’t ask you to attempt anything you’re not comfortable with.

Properly silenced machines are required. We try to tread lightly.

A well checked and serviced machine is less likely to let you down and spoil your tour. Remember to bring standard spares like tubes, levers, plugs, brake pads. If your bike breaks down we will recover you when convenient but obviously the tour must go on.

Vegetarians please advise us in advance of your needs. We don’t cater for vegans but each cottage has its own kitchen.
